As reported in the Daily Breeze, The Palos Verdes High football program is celebrating “Sea King Saturday” this Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. All three Palos Verdes High football teams will take on Central High of Fresno. The freshman team plays at 10:30 a.m., the junior varsity team plays at 1 p.m. and the varsity team plays at 3:30 p.m.

Palos Verdes has new bleachers and fans will get to sit in them for a varsity football game for the first time.

“We are looking forward to having our first home game in our new stadium bleachers,” Palos Verdes coach Guy Gardner said. “It will be nice to have the game on a Saturday instead of the usual early weekday time so that more families and members of the community can attend one or more of the three games.”

Palos Verdes is 0-2 to start the season, but its losses have come against quality teams in Moorpark and Narbonne.

At halftime of the varsity game, the Palos Verdes High drum line, marching band, color guard and song and cheer team will perform. After the game, the Palos Verdes High booster club will hold its annual kickoff party.
