Melahat Uzumcu. who owns a 6,900 sq. ft estate in Malaga Cove in Palos Verdes Estates, is in trouble with local city officials for allegedly illegally renting her estate out for weddings and other catered affairs, which have disturbed her neighbors. She is facing up to two years in jail and a $4,000 fine and city officials are considering sueing her.

Uzumcu is set to be arraigned Tuesday in Torrance Superior Court on charges of violating the zoning code, creating a public nuisance and conducting a business without a license.
