I am working with a client who is preparing her home for sale. Her home is beautiful, and they have done a great job of landscaping, renovating their kitchen, and placement of furniture, but the only negative about the home is the master bathroom. You enter the bath from a master bedroom with a vaulted ceiling into a bathroom that only has a little over 7 foot ceiling and no natural light.

How do you fix this problem. My suggestion is to install a skylight with a shaft flaring out from the skylight to create a much larger opening, and to create a sense of a much brighter room and solving the problem of the confining ceiling. Following is a picture of this kind of skylight that I added to one of my bathrooms in my home:

I also made the skylight enclosure asymetrical to add a bit of architectural interest to it.
