The City of Rolling Hills Estates is looking at alternatives to eliminate the budget deficits it is incurring in operating the Peter Weber Equestrian Center Municipal Stables adjacent to the former Palos Verdes Landfill site. Due to the economic downturn, over 10% of the stalls are vacant when in past years there was a waiting list.
This is an area between in-and-out pipe corrals at the Peter Weber Equestrian Center.
The council brainstormed ideas but settled on exploring two major options: handing the stables over to Los Angeles County or finding private outside management to run them under a concessions agreement.
The stable are located next to the former Palos Verdes Landfill adjacent to Crenshaw Blvd.
