Hermosa’s rich and legendary surfing culture shines this weekend as the Hermosa Beach Historical Society hosts a kick-off party Friday night for the Surfers Walk of Fame Induction and Spyder Surf Fest.

The “meet and greet” party will give attendees a chance to mingle with notable surfers, enjoy a silent auction courtesy of Spyder Surfboards, enjoy live music from Bullys & Matadors on the patio and see local art displays and a surf museum exhibit. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

2013 Surfers Walk of Fame inductee Mike Doyle will be introduced at 7:30 p.m. followed by a screening of John John Florence’s surf film, “Done.”

An after-party in the museum will begin at 9 p.m.

Adult tickets are $10 each; kids tickets $5 each.

Pre-sale tickets are available at Spyder Surfboards and Boccato’s Groceries.

Doors for the evening open at 6 p.m. at the HB Playhouse Theatre, 710 Pier Ave.

Rounding out the weekend of events will be the sixth annualSpyder Surf Feston Saturday, April 6. Beginning at 11 a.m., the city of Hermosa Beach will induct new honoree Mike Doyle to the Surfers Walk of Fame in a Pier ceremony. From noon to 6 p.m. the stage east of Hermosa Avenue will feature the industry €™s finest promotional teams and leaders. There will be free giveaways, interactive games, meet €˜n greets with star athletes of the surfing world and a killer band lineup.
