Today is the 45th annual Palos Verdes Marathon which will start at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, head down Palos Verdes Drive South to Palos Verdes Estates and Palos Verdes Drive West, looping back to the Terranea resort.

And then on Sunday morning, 800 to 1,000 motorcycles will cruise through the South Bay and Peninsula for the 20th annual Los Angeles Ride for Kids, an event that raises money to combat child brain tumors.
The ride begins at the American Honda Motor Co. headquarters in Old Torrance, and includes Torrance Boulevard, Catalina Avenue, Pacific Coast Highway, Palos Verdes Drive West and other busy streets.
Riders will include kid “stars” who are suffering from tumors or have fought the illness. They will ride in motorcycle side cars or as passengers on bikes.
The event last year raised more than $250,000 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
