Marymount College, currently a two year college located in Rancho Palos Verdes has indicated that they plan to begin offering a four year degree program in business, liberal arts and media studies, whith the first degrees planned to be awarded in 2012. They have applied for accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in August.
With this announcement, city officials with Rancho Palos Verdes now plan to require a supplemental environmental review of the proposed expansion plans of the college which would evaluate the impact of the planned four year degree program in addition to the planned expansion to the physical facilities.
