Palos Verdes High Football Players Show Support for Cancer Stricken Teammate
In a show of solidarity for a cancer stricken teammate, the members of the Palos Verdes High School Freshman Football team recently all shaved their heads. Their teammate, David Carter #2, was recently diagnosed with lymphoma and stomach cancer. David is in serious condition in the hospital and is undergoing chemotherapy treatments as well as recent surgery.

David who is a straight A student as well as a star track team member was also voted at the end of the football season last year “best all-around player” by the coaches and “coaches favorite.” The community of Lunada Bay have rallyed behind David with parents organizing meal deliveries for the Carter family in addition to giving David’s grandparents rides to and from the hospital in Westwood every day to visit David.
I have personally seen the incredible kindness of the local community who did similar things for my family when my husband was battling cancer a few years ago. This shows the true definition of a “community”.
