The City of Rancho Palos Verdes real estate market has been very strong but slowed during the 4th quarter of 2013. The number of homes listed for sale at the end of December decreased substantially to 54 homes, 5% less than the same time last year. The monthly average number of properties sold during the last three months of 27 homes is also down about 13% compared to the similar period last year . The Palos Verdes Estates real estate market continues to be very strong. The number of homes listed for sale in the City of Palos Verdes Estates increased substantially from April thru October after falling to very low levels at the end of the first quarter of 2013 . The number of homes listed for sale at the end of December, however, has decreased significatly to only 26 homes for sale.The average number of homes sold per month during the fourth quarter increased 17% compared to last year's 4th quarter, averaging 14 [...]

The City of Rolling Hills Estates Real Estate Market during the 4th quarter of 2013, including the unincorprated area known as Palos Verdes Peninsula adjacent to the City, has shown relatively strong sales, however sales slowed considerably in December due to very low inventoy of unsold homes. The Palos Verdes real estate market for condos and townhomes has continued to be strong, but with the inventory of unsold condos and townhomes on the Palos Verdes Peninsula of 38 units up approx. 27% compared to a year ago. The average number of sales per month over the last 3 months of 13 units per month is 18% higher than the comparable period a year ago, however there are only 4 units in escrow at the end of December. Redondo Beach was the home of California ´s first modern surfer. In 1907, Henry Huntington brought the ancient art of Hawaiian surfing to the California coast.
