The number of homes listed for sale in the City of Palos Verdes Estates increased substantially during the second quarter of 2013 after falling to very low levels at the end of the first quarter, with the number of homes for sale now very similar to the same period last year. Low inventory levels of homes for sale, combined with continuing historically low interest rates (although rates have increased about 1 percentage point) leading to good buyer activity, has created an environment where many homes are receiving multiple offers. The inventory of unsold condos and townhomes on the Palos Verdes Peninsula of 29 units has shrunk significantly over the last 12 months, and is down approx. 37% compared to a year ago.
