A trade service call fee per repair visit (usually about $55) or the actual cost of service, whichever is less, is typically charged. A disposal fee for replacement of large items may also be charged. The basic home warranty coverage costs approx. $255 – $260. A policy for a condominium costs slightly less. For an additional fee, ranging from $25 to $150 for each item, the following systems may be covered by the buyer:
Upgrade to basic coverage (which includes certain items excluded under the basic coverage, such as sediment in water heater; heating system registers, grills and filters; hinges springs and remote transmitter for garage door; racks, baskets and rollers for the dishwasher; smoke detectors; filters for air conditioning.
