Court’s Tentative Ruling Weakens Trump Lawsuit against the City of RPV

A recent tentative ruling by a court commissioner in Donald Trump’s $100 million lawsuit against the City of Rancho Palos Verdes that came almost exactly a year after Mr. Trump originally filed the case, will dismiss several of the defencents in the lawsuit including the geologists that were included in the lawsuit.

Donald Trump had sued the City of Rancho Palos Verdes for the sum of $100 million accusing the City of fraud and civil rights violations alleging that the City has prevented him from making ceretain improvements to the Trump National Golf Course which he feels is needed to maintain the “Trump Image”.

The main allegation included in his lawsuit is that the City forced him to obtain numerous extensive geological studies in order to build homes adjacent to the Golf Course which Mr. Trump believes were unncecessary and were only done to exact large fees from him. Along with the city, Trump sued geologists William Cotton and Stanley Helenschmidt, as well as Glenn Tofani and his company, Applied Geokinetics.

Commissioner Bruce E. Mitchell said he was prepared to dismiss some of the parties from the case altogether and pare the allegations against those that remain.

Mitchell said he will hear arguments — scheduled for Jan. 8 — before making a final ruling.
