Palos Verdes High School won both the Boys and Girls CIF Southern Section Championships. PV was the only school to sweep the boys and girls titles at Saturday morning’s CIF Southern Section finals at Mt. San Antonio College.
The girls got PV started, winning their second straight CIF crown with 101 points in Division III, topping Granite Hills (130) and San Luis Obispo (154).PV’s Rebecca Mehra captured her third straight CIF individual crown in 17 minutes, 23 seconds on the 2.91-mile course. The PV boys won the Division III title with 89 points to top St. John Bosco (112). It was sweet redemption after losing last year’s CIF meet. by one point.
