Valmonte(Area 164 in below map) is a neighborhood on the eastern edge of Palos Verdes Estates (turn left when entering the city from Redondo Beach at the “Y”). This area is characterized by the lush canopy of eucalyptus trees, and the Palos Verdes Golf Club and Tennis Club which is in the center of the Valmonte area. It is also home of the Palos Verdes Stables.
The Valmonte area of Palos Verdes Estates is a totally unique neighborhood in the Los Angeles area. Groves of towering eucalyptus trees provide a unique atmosphere to the area, making it a real wooded enclave retreat. The wide median strip between Palos Verdes Drive North provides a horse trail and a great jogging area for local residents. The area has no street lights or sidewalks, and is just a wonderful peaceful place.
This is a wonderful area to raise children, as the streets are flat and kids love to bike here. People love to walk the trails in the area. This is a very desirable area , especially for people who want easy access to the other beach communities of Redondo and Manhattan Beach, or a closer commute to Century City or the Westside.

The closest high school, Peninsula High , as well as the main shopping area in the Peninsula, is a short drive up Silver Spur Road, and the local elementary school, Silver Spur elementary, is among the best in the district. The intermediate school, however, is about a 5 to 10 minute drive.
The architecture in the area is almost story book in nature, including Tuscan, French Normandy, English Tudor and Spanish.
